Standard FileMaker Backups

FileMaker Server backups can be configured to meet your specific needs, supplementing offsite backups while being limited by available storage.

Offsite Backups

Ottomatic provides offsite backups as part of its fully managed FileMaker Hosting Services. These backups are stored in immutable storage, replicated across multiple zones to achieve 99.999999999% (eleven 9s!) redundancy, and retained for 14 days.

Backup links can be requested by opening a support ticket in the Cloud Console. Direct access through the Cloud Console is coming soon.

Point-in-Time Snapshots (SNAPS™) – Add-on

Ottomatic SNAPS™ provide rapid recovery and easy download of your FileMaker Apps via the Cloud Console. These point-in-time snapshots run every 30 minutes, working alongside FileMaker’s progressive backups.

The SNAPS™ volumes start at 500GB and retain up to 7 days of snapshots:

• SNAPS™ 500GB – $50/month
• SNAPS™ 1000GB – $100/month

Full VM Backups (Disaster Recovery) – Add-on

For additional protection, Full VM Backups can be enabled per VM instance at an extra cost. These provide complete backups of the running VM, allowing rollback to:

• Daily
• Every other day
• Weekly
• Monthly

Each VM retains two backups, with the option to transfer them to other data centers for enhanced disaster recovery.

OttoFMS Backups to S3 – Manage your own

You can also use OttoFMS to push backups to either Ottomatic Object Storage or your own S3-compatible service. Learn more here.
